Crafts galore!

As everyone knows I, like my mother, LOVE TO CRAFT! Lately I've been making anything and everything!! For fathers day Kenzie and I got our dad an antigravity chair and we decided to make him something also, so I went pinteresting!! And I came across THIS

Kenzie and I took the general idea and changed it up a little bit the finished product turned out great! We were really happy with it and billy loved it :)

Next came my moms birthday! We wanted to make something really special for her so we decided to make her personalized photo canvas. I found the tutorial Here!

These turned out great! The first one I made was super easy, Kenzie had a little difficulty with one. We figured out that if you put too much mod podge over the tissue paper the color comes right out of the photo. I also cut the tissue paper larger than 8 1/2 by 11 and taped the tissue paper on the back of a regular piece of paper! I also changed my printer setting to fine paper so the tissue paper didn't rip! Those couple changes made my life so much easier! She seriously loved these... Tears were shed! Haha

In addition to the canvases we made, I also made these beautiful candle holders, also found on pinterest! Here

Seth helped me with the spray painting and they also turned out amazing! I was so happy!!

Now that I was done with my gifts (for awhile) I decided to make myself a couple things :)

I have been wanting a maxi dress for quite awhile now, but because I'm cursed with these abnormally short legs, I can never ever find one that fits, thanks to, once again, pinterest, I found This pattern to make my own!

My mom and I made a trip to our favorite store, hobby lobby :) I found this adorable fabric and decided it would be great for my dress and I bought a $4 tank top from wal mart!

It took me a couple try's to get it perfect and the elastic thread was a pain in my behind, but the finished product turned out great! I can't wait to make another!!!

And finally, even though I am homeless and have no where to live next year, I'm of course thinking ahead and planning my bedroom! I wanted to make a pillow that would be the focal point and basis of my whole room, of course I found the perfect fabric at hobby lobby! These were Caiti inspired, no pinterest here folks :) they both turned out way better than I even expected! I am so proud of them :)

This weekend was the first time I used my sewing machine I got for Christmas and now I think I'm addicted, I want to make so many more things! I'm so so so happy with how everything turned out!! And I can't wait to make so many more things :)

Now I'm back in columbus and preparing myself for another busy couple weeks. Working two jobs, looking for a nursing job, looking for an apartment and studying for my boards is keeping me very busy!! I'm hoping that everything just works out in the end!! off to study!

Tuesday

I'm getting a little bored here in this tiny room all by myself. I got 'kicked out' of my house the evening of graduation and since I have a Kaplan NCLEX review class all this week, I'm staying at Seth's while he is in South Carolina with his dad and his sister! I thought, oh this will be relaxing time to myself... I quickly remembered I don't like ALL my time to myself!! I've been reading and I should be studying for the NCLEX, but after sitting in a class room for eight hours a day going over practice questions, that is literally the last thing I want to do!

Kenzie and I have some plans for a couple crafts and I cannot wait to post them soon!!

I don't have a whole lot to say, but one of my happiness project resolutions includes posting on my blog more often, so that's what I plan to do! :)

I have no words!

Sunday Funday

Well I officially just started my "happiness project". As of right now I'm keeping my whole project private until I figure out exactly what I want to do with it, but I finished Gretchen Rubin's book The Happiness Project and started to create my resolutions and commandments on happinessprojecttoolbox.com !!! I am really surprised at how easy it is to use so far! I cannot wait to start my resolutions, I really hope that I can keep up and manage to stick with it through the craziness that currently is my life!!

As you can see from my photos below above..... I am officially a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Nursing with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing!! :) I am a real grown up now, although it still hasn't hit me yet that I am no longer a college student! Shockingly, I managed to make it through the entire weekend without crying!! This is so unlike me, I'm a huge crier (thank you mother for that one), so this was a major accomplishment for me!! I think it got up to about 1,000,000 degrees at commencement today, but it was really special. Not only was this the 400th commencement at Ohio State, it was the largest graduating class and the LAST spring quarter graduation ever! So many exciting things! I am so happy that my parents, Kenzie, my Mamaw and Aunt Carol were able to come and share this amazing weekend with me! I am the first person in our immediate family to graduate from college!! Huge accomplishment and I am so proud of myself. It was a rough four years (especially the first two), but I stuck with it and made it! I am one happy girl!!

BUUUUT don't get too excited, the studying continues. I will be taking the NCLEX exam this summer in order to get my license to be a nurse in Ohio, so the whole 'I'm out of college and I never have to study again' excitement is nonexistent for me! sigh... I'm taking two classes to prepare myself for the exam. One is this week (starting tomorrow morning) and one next week, so I feel pretty confident that I will be able to do it and pass my first time (keep your fingers crossed!!) Seeing Caitlin D. Mellott RN, BSN will be totally worth all the hard work and extra studying!

Since I finished The Happiness Project I am going to start reading Fifty Shades of Grey... I am so very intrigued by this book and I decided I have to read it and formulate my own opinions about it instead of just listening to what everyone else has to say about it!

I have no idea why I'm still awake, this week/weekend has been completely exhausting! I can't wait for what comes next! WOOHOO

Convocation

Today was my Nursing commencement and pinning ceremony! I cannot believe how quickly this day came and it still doesn't feel like I'm actually getting my diploma in the morning. These past years have definitely been some of the most difficult/ challenging/ rewarding years of my life and I am really amazed that my time at Ohio State has come to an end. I don't think I've come to the full realization that I am no longer a college student, and luckily I still have Seth and Kenzie to live vicariously through! I am literally at a loss for words and I know even though sometimes (most of the time... Seth can second this) I am super stressed out about my next steps in live and often act like a crazy person, I really believe that everything will work itself out in the end!! Bring it!
